Moderate you, I will...

The teaser trailer for the sixth movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, has been released today and will debut Friday in theaters before The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. It features young Voldemort in the trailer...

The link above takes you to a page with options to view it in three types of HD (480, 720, and 1080) so you can choose the way you want to view it...

Looks pretty good... I know what we're going to go see for my birthday this year, LOL.

This reminds me that I have yet to actually see the last three Harry Potter movies. The third one has been sitting on my DVR for quite some time now. :ermm:

LOL. So you haven't seen Prisoner of Azkaban, The Goblet of Fire or Order of the Phoenix yet?

The books are better than the movies in a lot of ways--there's so much they had to cut out (especially from GoF) in order to cram them into 2 to 2.5 hour long movies...

The books are better in a lot of ways over the movies, if only because they go more in depth. So when (for example) Ron gets mad at Harry and doesn't talk to him for most of one of the movies that you haven't seen, you actually get a bit of explanation for why he's so mad, rather than the one or two scenes or so in the movie, and then at the end, they're buddy buddy again...

Granted, there's stuff that can be cut out but by the time you're at the fifth, sixth, and seventh books, it's harder to cut anything because a lot of it relates directly to the final resolution of the storyline...

Well this little tidbit from my local paper might explain why they didn't show the trailer for this before the Mummy movie I went to last week like they said they were going to do... (though the writer apparently didn't check it over first, because I know they have the original November date of release for the movie wrong--the day he lists is a Monday, I know because it's my birthday. I know the movie was supposed to come out on Nov. 21 originally):

'Harry Potter' film moves to 2009

Warner Bros. on Thursday bumped "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" from its planned Nov. 17 release. The sixth film in the blockbuster franchise about the boy wizard will open July 17, 2009. The studio said it preferred a summer release.

Understand that in the sixth Harry Potter movie that Hermoine kisses Ron. Didn't take place in the book.

Instead it was harry who kissed ginny.

Wonder why they made the change.
