The New Line founders-turned-producers have signed on to produce their first project since they received their post-New Line deal at Warners, boarding an adaptation of Isaac Asimov's futuristic sci-fi epic "Foundation" that they'll produce through their Unique Features banner. .... While I personally have waited a long time to see this filmed, I'm hesitant at making them into movies. The episodic nature of Asimov's work (especially the first novels) would have translated much better onto television than the big screen. Then there's of course the obvious risk of Hollyweird screwing it up... :ermm:

Columbia Wins Rights for Isaac Asimov’s Foundation Trilogy, with Roland Emmerich Directing With Emmerich at the helm I fear the worst, and lo and behold... Shocker! Roland Emmerich Will Film Asimov’s Foundation Trilogy as 3D Mo-Cap Epic Argh! :banghead:

Yeah, he wouldn't be my first choice of a director for anything but a disaster film, and even then he tends to go overboard.
