Yeah, I almost bought it - the prequel to Mass Effect was really good (although the second book, which is set after the first game, hasn't really interested me much) and I think the author of said book is one of the main writers for the game.

Sorry I haven't been around much. Either playing Dragon Age (again) or job hunting or just screwing around online.

O... kay...

Man marries videogame character

Someone really needs to get a life, if this isn't some sort of publicity stunt...

I've really got to hand it to the guys & gals behind Assassin's Creed 2 - they did a wicked cool job at a prequel mini-movie that sets up the game beautifully. You can watch said prequel here, and if even you don't play the game, it's a pretty neat thing to see anyway.

Most anticipated games of 2010

Star Wars: The Old Republic sounds like fun to me...

Ah crap ... Mass Effect 2 comes out tomorrow. What are the chances I disappear for a week as Bioware sucks me in? :P

Funny you should mention that particular game, because I just happened across this article about some deal online for Mass Effect 2, using a code in the box if you buy it new, which allows you to get 2 extra missions and a suit of armor (but only if you get it on the first day)...

Well, I don't know if Rigil likes the game (though I suspect he might since I haven't seen him around here today), but apparently lots of others do:

Mass Effect 2 has critics seeing stars

This you might find interesting.

'Tremendous' amount of interest in Mass Effect film, BioWare says

I have no idea how this will translate to film, but as a non-gamer I haven't had any problems with either the Tomb Raider or the Resident Evil movies. Gamers are probably less forgiving.

LOL. So it was worth the wait, then?

I'll have to tell Don at work (who apparently didn't like the first one, though it might have to do with whatever he was playing it on) that everyone seems to think this one is pretty good...

Really? He didn't like the first one? Huh. Weird. I loved it...

And ME2 is light years better than the first one.

Yeah, I'm not sure why exactly he didn't like it, though he was asking me what system you had played it on, so I'm guessing that might have something to do with his dislike. And of course when I saw him yesterday, I totally forgot to tell him that this game was better than the first one.

Have you managed to beat the game yet?

Finished the first play through tonight and it was awesome. This thing is so heads and tails above the first one and so much better than most movies I've watched recently. The first ten minutes ... whoa buddy. Pure awesome.

I give it a 10 out of 10.

LOL... I told my coworker yesterday what you said about this game being far, far better than the first one, and he was like, "Really?" So who knows, maybe he'll give it a try. Haven't seen the other dedicated gamer at work yet to see if he's played it, though (but I suspect the fact that he was starting a second job this week might have cut into his gaming time).

So Rigil, did you remember to get the two extra missions and the suit of armor with that code from the game box the other day? And have you worked your way through the other little side missions and stuff yet, or are you still doing those?
