My coworker Don (the one who didn't like the original Mass Effect) told me today that he's going to have to get the second one, because he's heard a lot of good things about it. And then he added that he's one of those types that have to play and beat the first one before he can play the second one, so he'll have to get the original too.

He also said that the version he played originally was only a demo of Mass Effect, which hadn't thrilled him, so he never actually played the whole game.

Now he just has to wait (and hope) that his tax return gives him a refund so he can get the games for his Xbox, but he won't know that til Sunday probably, because our boss is doing his taxes for him.

If they ever adapted Mass Effect to film, they'd have to cut quite a bit out. Even the main storyline takes quite a while to play through, and I'd worry about the characters and their development. In some ways Mass Effect would make a better TV series than a movie.

I'm still waiting until the price drops to get ME2, and something tells me I'm going to be waiting a while. :(

So did any of you guys who plays these games get Bioshock 2? I know one of the guys at work bought it the other day, and another wants desperately to get both it and Mass Effect 2...

Since I don't play video games, I have no opinion about Mass Effect as a video game, but I read a summary of the plot on wikipedia and it sounded like it would make a great story for film or TV.

Just finished Mass Effect 2. It took 31 hour of my life. Great game, very big and expensive. I was pleasantly surprised by dozens of famous actors involved From Martin Sheen and Carrie Ann Moss to Tricia Helfer and Yvonne Strahovski. Bioware is probably one of the few (or may be the last) company who never let down .Now probably will check out the original Mass Effect

Pac-Man, the arcade classic, turns 30

You know, I still have that old single "Pac-Man Fever" on a 45 record... can't play it on anything, but I have it, LOL.

And I can remember going to the video game arcade that was in the basement of our local 7-Eleven (which has long since been turned into a UDF store) and playing all sorts of games, including Pac-Man and Centipede, for hours...

DC Universe Online: The best superhero movie you'll never see

Evidently the guys at io9 really likes the trailer for this game... Personally (without having watched the video yet), I have to wonder if Supes is blasting Bizarro in that picture or if it's someone else, 'cause it's hard to imagine him being that pissed off to use his laser vision on someone whom it could fry...

ETA: Okay, so he's not blasting Bizarro, but he's still one very, very pissed off Supes... I don't even play video games (at least not much) and I think this looks pretty cool...
