Basically, these are series of comics counting down the events just prior (from what I can tell) to what goes on in J.J. Abrams' movie. I happened across the entries over at Memory Beta which has a pretty full synopsis, if you don't want to buy the comics themselves. Apparently at least one thing that's happened prior to the movie is that Spoiler: click to toggle Here's the links to the Memory Beta articles about the comics: Countdown, Number One Countdown, Number Two They don't have more than the cover art for the third issue yet, unfortunately... and that means nothing as far as the fourth comic book, either.
