Apparently there's going to be a TV movie explaining what that frakkin' plan really was...

New Trailer For ‘Battlestar Galactica: The Plan’

Quote:

A new trailer has been released for the upcoming Battlestar Galactica TV movie, The Plan. Watch it now:

The Plan chronicles the first 281 days of the Battlestar Galactica series but through the eyes of the Cylons. It is said The Plan will pull together so many strings that you’ll be compelled to watch the entire series again just to see how well knitted together the whole story was. Given the questions left unanswered at the end of the series, that’ll be quite an achievement.

The Plan will air on SyFy during November 2009.

No release dates have yet been given for the DVD release, however it is known the DVD will run 30 minutes longer than the SyFy premiere, primarily consisting of additional footage from the Cylon’s perspective.

‘Battlestar Galactica: The Plan’ Not the Final BSG Movie

Quote:

Edward James Olmos has told attendees at the San Diego Comic-Con Battlestar Galactica panel that the upcoming BSG movie The Plan won’t be the last Battlstar Galactica movie.

“As a matter of fact, I’ve got to tell you right now. Because of you all, what you’re doing, because of the love for that world…I can guarantee that this will not be the last movie,” he said.

Olmos believes that The Plan will sell so well on DVD that it will guarantee “more movies.” Yes, more than one.

When a fan commented that Bill Adama is still alive at the end of the series, Olmos joked that he was already considering further Adama adventures.

“In fact, I’ve got the entire script around them. I know exactly what happened to him. Let me put it to you this way: when we next see Adama, it will be in a very rustic log cabin and there will be a knock at the door and it will be his old friend Colonial Tigh saying, “We have a problem.”"

Sound pretty cool to me but until then we’ll have to settle for just one movie.

Battlestar Galactica: The Plan chronicles the first 281 days of the Battlestar Galactica series through the eyes of the Cylons. Olmos has repeatedly said it will pull together so many strings that you’ll be compelled to watch the entire series again.

The Plan will air on Syfy during November 2009. The DVD is said to run 30 minutes longer than the version to air on Syfy, primarily consisting of additional footage from the Cylon’s perspective.

There was a plan?
:guffaw:

Apparently there was, but then the Cylons, for whatever reason, abandoned it. This TV movie will tell the story of that plan. At least that's what I understood.

Bovine excrement. There was never a plan, no matter what the execs say or what the opening bit used to say. As the series continued, you could tell that they were making the crap up as they went while insisting they had a plan. That's probably one of the reasons I lost interest in the show like I did - when they're saying one thing ('and they have a plan') yet showing me the exact opposite, I feel like I'm being lied to.

So yeah, I have zero interest in watching this thing. To me, BSG ended sometime in season 2.

And I remain convinced that, if they had to show up in Earth's past (even though that really doesn't make sense) they should have been the basis for the Atlantis legends, not that ridiculous whatever ending that actually took place...

Well, I never claimed TPTB knew what that plan was when they wrote the show. But now - after the fact - they seem to have figured something out and hence this TV movie. A retcon if you will.

And I'm not that interested either. I still haven't watched the latter half of the last season.
