^ Sorry to disappoint, but with a resistance leader named "John May," it's kind of hard to picture the leader as a female (but it would have been different, since everyone is expecting it to be a guy...) |

Okay, io9.com had a brief promo for V which apparently ran during Lost the other night (beats me, I don't watch Lost)... V's lizard army won't annihilate humanity until after they find out who Jacob really is |

Well, just over a week until new episodes start airing for this show. Next Tuesday, at 10 pm, they're showing a recap of the first four episodes (or so it says, but the episode title they list for that night is "The Arrival"). Then they're re-airing two more episodes on Saturday, March 27th, before the new episodes start at 10 pm March 30th. |

Producer promises: new V is full of OMFG moments! While I doubt that some of the so-called OMFG moments are going to be that for me (for example, the one scene in particular I remember from last week's trailer involving Father Jack and what the Visitors were doing to him, reminds me a great deal of one of Diana's experiments in one of the '80s V novels, though I acknowledge the fact that there's probably plenty of people out there who never read that particular novel), I'll be thrilled if the pace picks up a bit from the first three episodes at least. The fourth episode last November was a good start in that direction, but the first three were incredibly slow without much action going on (especially in the second episode)... |

Well, I watched the newest episode last night. It didn't really have any "OMFG" moments as far as I'm concerned, though that last shot of Anna at the end (while not entirely unexpected) was a bit of a surprise visually--these are definitely not the same Visitors that were on the '80s show. Pity that scene with Father Jack looking like some Visitor mutant was only a hallucination, though. That would've been kind of interesting (even if it was implausible). I am thinking, however, that maybe that R6 stuff--despite the fact that it's a tracer at the moment--is something that Anna can use, perhaps, to bring these "infected" humans to the Visitors, and perhaps use them in some way--she did mention something at the end of the episode about her eggs would be laid... maybe they'll be the food source for her newborns when they hatch? On a related note (as far as hybrids go, that is), Ryan and that V doctor lady both agreed that they were "told" that it's impossible for the Visitors to mate with humans, which is why they were so surprised to learn that Ryan's girlfriend is pregnant with his kid. Which makes me wonder what exactly Anna is up to, because I still think that she intends for her own daughter to mate with that Tyler kid (who was still annoying, IMO). Perhaps she doesn't want any competition from any other half-breed kids? Here's a crazy idea: what if the Visitors actually turn out to be descendants of the dinosaurs that once roamed Earth--maybe they somehow were more developed than we know, and some of them made an escape before the rest ended out being wiped out, and now they're back to reclaim the world their ancestors once owned? Yeah, I know, it's a nutty idea... We also learned that Anna is the "queen" of her people (and that last image of her was definitely reminiscent of the queen from Aliens). I just wonder whether that would still be true if the Fifth Column/resistance somehow manages to break the Bliss addiction that she uses to hold the rest of her people in thrall... And hey, Krychek was in last night's episode! Pity he was only in one of Tyler's memories (he was Tyler's dad). I was really hoping for more of an appearance than that when I saw his name... Still not real thrilled with Erica. Ryan is more interesting than she is. |

Cool, Krychek's in this episode too... It's rather funny that he's playing the hubby of a FBI agent on this show, when he was (orginally) one himself on The X-Files... |

And for a Star Trek connection (besides the fact that Joel Gretsch is William Shatner's son-in-law), Jonathan Frakes is directing next week's episode. I still haven't figured out what, exactly, the secret about Erica that Tyler was supposed to learn tonight was, which he confronts her about next week. Obviously it must have something to do with what Krychek was saying that Tyler needed to be told, but... they never actually said what it was, nor was Tyler around to hear them talking about having to tell him something. I'm guessing that they need to tell Tyler that he was adopted or something like that, but Erica doesn't want to do it. I have a bad feeling about Ryan putting the phosphorus in Valerie's tea to help the baby along, though. Why do I have the feeling that the concentrated phosphorus is going to have a life-changing effect on her which she may not want... I also bet that Father Jack will end up with one of the "invitations" to live on the ship at some point. |

I didn't know that. So Joel Gretsch is married to William Shatner's daughter? The daughter that had a small role as a yeoman on one of the Trek films? |

Yes, he is. That same daughter (Melanie) was also one of the kids on the TOS episode Miri, according to imdb.com... |

Okay, while I wasn't surprised that Lisa went along with her mom's plan at the end (despite being conflicted over what Erica was telling her and really wanting to do it her way), I didn't expect Hobbs to sell the stuff that's toxic to the Visitors to Anna's #2 guy, no matter how much he wanted the info they had on him and were using to set him up for stuff... |

Huh... this is a bit of surprise, given the miserable ratings since they came back (even if they did improve slightly recently):

Wow, didn't expect Anna to do that at all at the end of the finale. From what it appears, she intends to remake Earth in her own world's image... at least, I can't think of any other reason for her to cover the world in swirling red clouds as vengeance for Erika and the Fifth Column for killing her army of soldiers before the eggs could hatch... ETA: And I'm glad to see that Chad Decker finally realized how he's been lied to and used by Anna. Pity it's too little, too late, since he also learned that he didn't have an aneurysm before the Visitors got their hands on him--they gave it to him. It was also fascinating to discover that Marcus (Anna's number 2 guy) has been Hobbes' employer for years, and that they want him to infiltrate the Fifth Column. Which leads to the question--which side is Marcus really on? I've been on the fence about him for several weeks now, and I'm still not sure whether he's with Anna or against her (in the sense that he wants to take her place, not necessarily that he's siding with the humans other than as a means to achieve his goal). ^ Sounds interesting, especially the part where the body count rises and to not get attached to anyone in particular... The part with the kids doesn't surprise me in the slightest, after all, Tyler's been more on Anna's side than his mom's since day one, and Lisa certainly had enough reason, after what Anna did to her to further her own agenda, to want to be more like the humans around her. |
