I've been watching season 5 and some of the episodes have been hit and miss last night the Replicators return wasn't very interesting they've been overused and I hope they'll focus more on the Wraith and the new badguys shown in that show called Daedalus Variation.

For those who haven't heard yet:

Stargate: Atlantis will end this season

An official press release will be released later today by MGM about it.

ETA: Oh, and they're doing to Atlantis what they did to Farscape: namely, letting the season end on a cliffhanger, only at least Atlantis already knows that they will get a movie to "wrap it up." :rolleyesrequest:

When exactly were they supposed to stop filiming this show for the season? I'm just curious if the parallels to Farscape continue with it being cancelled on the next to last day of shooting as well...

They've been talking about doing that for two years, though. And it's still not greenlit.

I didn't knew that. Well, as I have read now, they might have the money if SG-A is cancelled.

Here's a fresh thought - why not create an entire new sci-fi series and stop milking an old franchise? Nah! :rolleyesrequest:

What, you mean actually think up something new? That would be too difficult... :lol2: It'd require them to actually have ideas, you know, instead of recycling the same things over and over and over again...

Well, at least they thought up the original Stargate idea by themselves.

Oh, wait...

OK... from what I read on Joe Mazoolie's (sp) Blog last night...

Atlantis will NOT end on a cliffhanger... it will end with a regular ending that will conclude the story but the Atlantis mission will seem to continue (if you know what I mean... its not like Atlantis is shut down) and they are going to continue with direct to DVD movies for Atlantis.

The Stargate: Universe will go ahead with an all new cast and the lead will be a person who is known to viewers (the example given was using Harry Dean Anderson when they started the SG1 series... but the rest of the cast was reletive unknowns). It will be focused on bringing in newer younger viewers into the Stargate series....

Stargate: Universe is going to be the "Voyager" of the Stargate world. It will take place on a ship that is exploring further out into the universe... (although I have issue with that and the missing use of Stargates... heck its called stargate)

I presume you mean Richard Dean Anderson... Harry was MacGyver's granddad. ;)

Well, Connor Trinneer is due for an acting break, but since he's easily recognized as Michael among SG-A fans, i doubt he's the new lead for Stargate: Universe.

Heh, if they mold the new show on VOY and make the new lead a female, they could use Jolene. :P

That won't work since she's already been in SG-1 twice as that Jaffa love interest of Teal'c. And I can't see her returning to television for something like this.

Simply based on the information currently at my fingertips, I don't see how they can do this SG:U and actually make it different enough to stand out.

But, since this is Stargate, it's almost a fait accompli we'll have a "maverick," wise-cracking commanding officer, a "native" butt-kicker, and the "deux ex machina" Super!Scientist as part of the team. And there will be at least one clip show.

Don't forget them running past that same stand of trees in virtually every episode that takes place on a planet... :lol2:

Though I will give the SG folks this, at least they know all these things that the fans point out and make fun of them themselves in their shows...

You mean the planet British Columbia, incidentally the same planet the Battlestar Galactica often encounters...

I'm curious how they plan to wrap up the Wraith storyline with Micheal and other characters and aliens from previous seasons. And what about the new alien bad guys that were like the borg. I like Robert Picardo as Woolsley. I'm not therilled with another Voyager lost in space series either. :rolleyesrequest:

Apparently the next new episode of Atlantis (on September 5th) has the team finding a genetics lab on some planet that belongs to Michael (though no Michael)...

Please sign the online petition for Stargate Atlantis

located here: http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/SaveSGA

This is the "Official" one that people are being sent to. Originally there were a couple but this one is now the final one. This site had gone down for maintainence right after the petition was started and went off line for 3 or 4 days. Now its back and its quite amazing how quick the names have added up!!

BTW KTR... Nicole D is joining the Cast!
