^ Thank you so much for looking things over for me. As always, you are a great help.

First, I am glad you caught the double paragraph. It's fixed. I write all of this in Word and then copy it in. Obviously I went a little overboard with the copying.

One thing struck me and it's that the warp engines are not just used to created the subspace field, but also to push forward momentum. I'm not sure what's been established in the Trekverse (if anything indeed has) but I think I've read theories from some fans that the thrust is generated by another set of engines (the impulse engines?) whereas the warp engine just created the subspace field that allowed the vessel to travel at FTL.

Actually, that theory is from the TNG technical manual. It postulates the warp engines work basically the same way as a bullet train does. It produces alternating magnetic fields to push itself forward.

And I just love my fancy footwork on the warp factors. I am very proud of the way I explained away all of those distance/time mistakes by making the factor calculations not dependent on a set speed. :eviltbbs: (I think that by the 24th century, the warp factor is a set speed and that is the reason why the scale changed.)

As for the transporters, I have no idea how the transporter reconstructs the object at the destination. Maybe the object comes back together by manipulating the subspace fields with a little help of the annular confinement beam.

And that is a huge mistake in "Chosen Realm" with the site to site transport. That technique was not possible until the 24th Century.

Thanks again everyone. I am always very nervous about my new stuff so I love getting feedback. It either rests my fears or helps me make things better. Either way it is a plus!

Hi everyone. I have another update to The Enterprise Project. This week I have completed the schematic of the Armory. Malcolm would be pleased, I’m sure. I have also added a new page listing the vessel’s specifications. I may start a riot with some of the things listed there but I am prepared to defend myself. The Armory blueprint is located under the Page for F Deck, of course. But the specification page can be found under the NX Overview Page.

Next on my list: the Mess Hall and Galley. Then I am going to tackle each character's quarters.

I also have Enterprise Wallpapers on the way as well. I know I keep talking about them but it is taking me longer to get everything together than I expected. I want them to be right so that takes a little time. Hopefully I will have them completed by the end of next week.

And I would also like to invite everyone to make requests on the next series of detail schematics I do! Is there a part of the ship that you would love to see? Is there an area on the deck plans you want to view in better detail? Then sound off and let me know.

Armoury (even though I'm an American, I've always preferred the British way of spelling that word...) looks great, AD. I'm still a little iffy about how they transport the ordnance from the storage bay to the loading platform though.

Looking great, as I've come to expect, Anti Drone!

Say, will you write some facts about the weapons systems, how the armoury works etc. in much the same way as you've written about the warp engine and transporter?

^ Actually I am working on it. But I have about six different things going on right now so I have pushed it to the back burner. When I do get to it (probably in the next couple of weeks), I will explain better how the torpedoes get to the launch tubes. Basically everything is under the floor. The spatial torpedoes are moved around by hand while the photonic torpedoes are a much more automated. I am also still trying to figure out what would be the best place to load the antimatter into the photonics so I need a little more time.

I may do a explanation/tech page for the bridge as well. There has been some confusion about the mission ops stations.

Thanks!

Oh and does anyone have any requests... anyone...

Oh and does anyone have any requests... anyone...

I see you've already mentioned the Mess Hall and gallery. I suppose the Scullery and the Captain's Mess are included in that.

As for requests... well, here are some:

  • The different cargo holds and how they work - both the ones spanning several decks, and those that are on the aft section.
  • Impulse engines and how they work
  • The computer core and how that works
  • The science labs on B-deck, at least a sample of the most important ones
  • The medlabs around Sickbay on E deck
  • The Brig on F deck
  • The Conference room(s) on E deck

That'll keep you occupied for a year or so... :rasberry:

;)

I am not sure about the cargo holds. Are you speaking of the cargo shaft and the transport arm? That could be interesting. As for the rest, I was thinking about doing something with the impulse engines, computer core and a couple of the B Deck science labs. (Stellar Cartography is of particular interest.) The conference rooms would be useful too. And I had completely forgotten about the brig. And if I do that plan large enough, I can include the lower Launch Bay control booth and the antimatter storage room.

To be honest, I was asking for requests since I am hardly objective at this point. I have now been immersed in this ship for two years and I would do detail plans for all of it if I could. But rather than waste time and bandwidth, I realized that fans of the show and ship could and would be more objective about the interesting parts.

And at the rate I am working right now, I could make very quick work of your list Kevin Thomas Riley. I did the Armory plan, from start to finish, in a week. Granted, I haven't been sleeping very much lately...

Anti Drone. Not sure if this has been asked before but:

Does your deck plan have an Hydroponics deck?

so crew can grow fresh vegatables and berries to supplement sores and Protein synthesizer? Also provide a booster to atmosphere.

He hangs out in Misc at TrekBBS a lot lately, but his board is apparently dead.
