For those who didn't buy the DVD when it came out last November, Bender's Big Score will premiere on Comedy Central this Sunday at 8 pm EDT. Can't wait to see it... After years of waiting for new Futurama, it's finally here... |

^ No problem, I nearly forgot myself, actually... I just remembered when I was flipping through the channels just now and saw an old episode of Futurama was on. |

:lol2: Love how they make fun of Fox's cancellation of them... ETA: and the tributes to The Blues Brothers and Terminator not to mention the bit about the 2000 election bit... |

By the way, the second movie, Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs comes out on DVD on 24 June, according to imdb.com. The third movie's working title is Futurama: Bender's Game and the fourth is Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder |

Liked the solid gold Death Star sequence, too... it was funny that Hermes was coordinating the attack to the Futurama theme song... When did Nixon become president again? The last president of Earth I remember was that McNeal guy whom the aliens from Omnicron Persei VIII vaporized when they said he wasn't McNeal (aka the "Single Female Lawyer")... I vaguely remember Nixon being president in the show, but I don't remember how he ended up as president again. |

Overall, I was happy to see the gang again, though waiting til June (or whenever they show the rest of the episodes on Comedy Central) to find out what happens next is not going to be fun. I figured out long before they did that Lars was actually Fry though. It did feel at times like they were trying to cram everyone who ever appeared in an episode into this movie. I'm kind of surprised that Mom didn't do anything to stop the spammers, since she basically was losing a whole planetful of customers, and she didn't seem like the type to fall for their tricks... |

I think I'm going to have to watch it a couple more times at least, just to pick out most of the different shows/movies they referenced in it, besides the obvious ones, that is. It was also kind of annoying that you couldn't read whatever the little messages for the last three parts that they stick underneath 'Futurama' were because of the way Comedy Central put up the credits for the previous episode and the beginning of the next episode at the same time... But I did love how they skewered the Fox executives for the show's cancellation... |

Well, I just finished watching it and ... it was okay, I guess. Too much of the humor seemed forced, like they were trying to be funny but not really succeeding. The "surprise" reveal about Lars was pretty obvious from like the second time they had him show up, and it really did seem like they were trying to cram too much into it. That said, some of the sight gags were great. I especially like the Globetrotters' interior ship shot that was very Lynch Dune-like and the solid gold Death Stars were kind of amusing. I can't give it more than a resounding "Okay." |

I'm willing to wait and see how the other three movies turn out, since if I remember right, all of them tie together into one big overall plotline, but I do hope that some of the other recurring characters (like Zapp and Kip) get more lines in the other movies. And fewer of the minor characters would definitely be an improvement unless there is a valid reason for them appearing... |
