According to the previews I've seen, the first half of it is supposed to start in March, and from what I've read, the second half will be delayed until 2009, or it might never be made due to the writer's strike.

I find myself not caring that much. I hate to sound like a whiny bitch, but aside from a few stand-outs like Pegasus, Reserection Ship, and Exodus, BSG has sucked since the military coup Adama led against Roslin in Kobal's Last Gleaming. I would love for Season 4 to be a swan song worthy of the first season, but to quote someone, "Do not look to hope; it has forsaken these lands..."

That being said, I thought I'd share a few cool tidbits.

The first trailer I saw back when Razor aired was ... interesting. Click here to watch it. The aspect I find most interesting is Tigh pulling a sidearm on someone (looks like Adama). I also hope that they make Starbuck somewhat interesting instead of pathetic like they've been doing since she came back from Caprica, but what I see here isn't very promising in that regard.

The second trailer I saw that aired around finals week of last semester was pretty cool looking if nothing else. Click here to watch it.

last but not least is this scan from a magazine article about BSG S4, which is basically a BSG version of the Last Supper. As an aside and in response to the article, I think Athena and Helo are looking at Roslin and that she's looking at them, which is why her expression is so smug. After all, she's tried to kill Athena more than once, and there was that whole deal with their kid.

Pretty much agree. Last season was especially mediocre for me with maybe three episodes tops that weren't crap. A number of the characters that I liked when the show first began (Apollo, Starbuck, Tyrol) took sharp nosedives in s4. It's pretty pathetic when you're actively rooting for the cylons to wipe humanity out.

I hate to say it, but there's only about a 50% chance that I'll watch the entire last season of BSG. If the quality (as I perceive it) remains as low as s4, I'll probably check out around 4.03 just like I bugged out of 2.05 or so of ENT.

I bought the first season on DVD, because I liked the miniseries. Two separate times I tried watching it. I don't think I got past the sixth ep. I just couldn't get into it. The Starbuck character didn't help much, something about her I couldn't stand. Looks like I'll be doing some trading at my local MovieStop.

From the first I didn't care for Starbuck as a character. I don't like her character I've totally lost interest in this series and not interested in seeing what happens in the last season.

Well, while I'm really disillusioned with nBSG, I will tune in and see if it improves this next season. I really hope it will, since it's the last one and I did like the show in the beginning.

THUD NEWSBREAK: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA WILL FIND EARTH
Impeccable sources tell me that Battlestar Galactica's fourth season, put on hold for three months by the just-ended writer's strike, will not be truncated. The SciFi Channel has told Ron Moore that they want to complete the entire 22 episode season four order! The network will be giving Ron Moore, David Eick and their embarrassingly good writing staff a lot of hours to wrap up the show's story without rushing or trimming.

When the show shut down three months ago, there were some worries as to whether it would start up again. Battlestar is expensive, and other expensive shows that weren't burning up the ratings found themselves axed during the strike. Getting BSG a 22 episode fourth season order was seen as nothing short of miraculous at the time, so people wondered if SciFi wouldn't just 'cut their losses' (in their shortsighted eyes) and end the season at the 12 or so episodes in the can, maybe giving Moore et al the chance to finish everything up in a TV movie.

Thankfully that didn't happen, and there's more good news: the entire writing staff is back. They gathered this week to rewatch the completed season four episodes to get back up to speed, and now that the strike is completely and officially over, they'll be revisiting the outlines of future episodes and break those stories. There are still some details that will need to be ironed out - actor's deals may need to be renegotiated to get them secured past when their season four contracts end, for example - but the sets in Vancouver were never struck and the behind the camera types are raring to go and finish their epic story. I've heard that the show is firing on all cylinders in the season four episodes filmed to date, and I hope that three months away has given everybody new energy and perspectives to match the first half of the season.

The one mystery that remains is how SciFi will air the final season. Currently the feeling is that they'll split it in half and we'll only get ten or eleven episodes now, with the rest following as late as 2009. Here's to hoping that they wise up and give us the complete story in a more reasonable time frame.

I'm dreading the revelation about the final "secret" Cylon!

Also, I really hope that when they get to Earth, that it's not going to be contemporary Earth.

i watched the season 4 premiere it was okay but not anything special . The only thing I thought was interesting was Tigh and the others struggling with the fact they're Cylons and the space battle and what happened with Anders and the Cylon warship was odd. and the Baltar story I'm already tired of it already.

That one redhead is hot though, and I keep trying to think of what other show I've seen her on.

DVRed it, but haven't gotten around to watching it. I'm trying to force myself to slog through the English Civil War book for the review that's due in my Absolutism class in two weeks. Blech.

I just watched it and it didn't really rock my boat or implied that the show was taking a turn for the better. I still can't get over that people like Tigh and Tyrol are supposed to be Cylons. And I don't know what to think of Starbuck and her return.

And please God, someone kill Baltar (as he very nearly was here). That frakkin' traitor deserves to die a slow painful death now. But now they make him up to be some saviour, curing kids with terminal diseases... :wtf: And am I the only one who thought it mildly offensive that he had a cult following of hot, young and willing women? Blech! :yuck:

The space battle was cool though.

That perfectly encapsulates my feelings on the episode. Honestly, I don't have anything more to add to that...

I have to disagree about Baltar. Surprisingly, I actually sympathize more about his character than most everyone else on that show.

Meh. It's got to the point now that the only confirmed human character on that I actually give a damn about is Helo. Everybody else is a POS in some fashion or another.

Go Cylons! Destroy All Humans! Wheee!
