I'm going to watch it, and I never even heard of the comic until after the trailer for the movie had come out.

Well, you're only slightly older than the graphic novel, so I'm not surprised that you don't know what it is. I do remember it being very much talked about at the time it was released and all the praise it got at the time (though I never read it myself)...

Beats me. The whole concept sounded pretty stupid from the trailer I saw. The only reason I can think for it to get that much money is that it must appeal to little kids who dragged their parents to see it or something...

David Tennant is trying to reach contratual agreements with BBC through 2011 to play Dr.Who and he really wants to do a movie. It sounds like he may get his wish and the fans want a movie as much as David does. I heard it on the radio. It would Be nice to see him continue playing Dr Who for a few more years. :app:  :eating popcorn:

Reanok, I posted that he was trying to get a contract for a movie and a continuation as the Doctor for the fifth season over the Doctor Who thread a month ago, if you remember...

It'd be nice if he does succeed, but I won't be upset if he's replaced either: after all, the Doctor still has three more lives after Tennant's gone before they have to come up with some way to give him a longer life if the show remains on the air.

Now if he does get a movie, I sincerely hope that they make better ones than "Dr. Who and the Daleks" and "Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D." from the '60s. Those were really tacky (and not nearly as good as the original episodes of Doctor Who that they were based on).

Captain America spotted in Marvel movies

I think most people knew (or heard) about the brief little shot of his shield in the background in Iron Man, but the article has shots of the second time he appears (in the original beginning scene for the recent The Incredible Hulk movie, which will be on the DVD version)...

Well it's an interesting promotion, I'll give them that (from Sci Fi Wire's News Briefs):

Quote:

In a promotion tied to the DVD/Blu-ray release of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, pizza retailer Papa John's will offer a free extra-large "Explorer" pizza to anyone in the United States named "Dr. Jones" until Oct. 26; if Dr. Jones lives in Indiana, he or she will also get a free Indy DVD.

They should leave it at 3 - even Matt Damon thought so, which is why he said he wouldn't reprise his role.

If it's as good as the first three then great. If Matt Damon changes his mind and decides against it I'd like to see Julia Stiles reprise her character and take the lead in some way. I would have liked to see and learn more about her character in the other movies.

For reasons that elude me I see that they've decided to remake Friday the 13th. I'm sure it will be more gore, blood, sex and boobs than the first one. Of course I'm assuming that since I didn't see the first one. I actually have a point here and that is Nana Visitor from DS9 is playing Pamela Vorhees.

I don't think I ever saw the first one either... I've seen bits and pieces of various horror movies over the years, but I don't remember which ones I have actually seen and which I haven't.

Doesn't surprise me in the least, though, that they're remaking it. After all, they've given us Aliens vs. Predator (with sequels, no less), and a remade Texas Chainsaw Massacre, so why not Friday the 13th?
