Say, I've got a question, since I never actually followed the Iron Man comic.

That little glowing circle thing in his chest was supposed to keep the shrapnel from going into his heart and killing him, right? So why didn't the bad guys just blast it?

LOL... I liked how he handled the press conference at the end. And I saw the bit with Nick Fury after the credits.

Though I still don't understand why the other guy in the suit at the end, who knew that little glowing device thing was the thing that powered it (not to mention that it was keeping Tony alive), didn't try and destroy it...

Another The Day the Earth Stood Still Q & A

This one focuses more on the sci fi aspect of it, though I think both this Q&A and I posted yesterday give away at least part of the ending of the movie...

and there was also this article, too:

Earth to Space: How's this for a wide release?

So if any aliens show up and start threatening the planet, we can all blame Fox... :lol2:

The trailer for The Day the Earth Stood Still is giving me the impression some enviro-freaks got a hold of us - "you're here to save the Earth from us?" - "I tried to reason with your leaders; you're the problem, all of you, humans." :rolleyesrequest: So we go from being anti-nuclear proliferation to anti-human-caused global warming, great....

Well, we don't exactly have a Cold War anymore... so they changed the aliens' motivation apparently for coming.

Anyway, they had this article today:

I watch "The Day the Earth Stood still" yesterday and was really disappointed. It was bad as a remake and it was also bad as stand alone movie.
First, a bad cast. Keanu Reeves with woodden face, uncharismatic Jeniffer Connely, extremely annoyning son of Will Smith which did stupid things all the time and absolutely unappropriate John Cleese as good professor defending earth citizens.
Second - director. I don't know how but he made 90 minutes sci-fi blockbuster which is boring to watch. There was absolutely wild contrast between scenes locust destroying the stadiums and Keanu Reeves silently walking in the wood in the same time.
Another thing which bothered me, this film really didn't look like a blockbuster. I swear sometime that I thought I watch cheap Sci-Fi TV project. THere were scene or two which looked really good but half of computer graphics looked mediocre at maximum.
And as a last nil in the coffin - there were only few scenes with GORT(robot). To make him splitted up on swarms of small locusts was a very, very, very bad desicion cause almost all good emotions I've got from this movie I've got from GORT.
So 4/10 as maximum.

^ I didn't even know they were making a Tron sequel! :wtf:

If anything, considering advancement in CGI and computers in general, they ought to make a new version of the original.
