:vulcan: I was wondering what had happened to the site yesterday. Sounds like they got alot of damage.I like the idea of having an easier way to post spoilers. :ermm:

Glad we're back online and hope everything is sorted out at that server farm.

It does seem to be working much better this afternoon than it was either last night when it came back or this morning, for that matter. I haven't had a single 'oops, we can't find that page' message since I signed on this afternoon after I got home from work.

There really ought to be a "Flash" button. And while we're at it, a "Spoiler" button.

recheck your code in the dollhouse thread... you have some issues there with your spolier code. The flash insert works fine. You can delete it from here and put it in the dollhouse thread where it belongs....

^ Um, I didn't use any spoiler code in that thread. I don't know why it didn't work before!

And I just noticed that you can't delete your posts any more. There's no option for it.

I see an option for deleting ... so maybe its restricted to moderators.

Yeah, I have a delete button too, it's the button next to edit at the bottom left of the post... but maybe that is a moderator function now...

As for the spoiler stuff chris is talking about, I think he's referring to your original post when you left spoiler space between the first part of the article and the last bit...

Yeah, that's just a moderator function.

Ah, but back when I made that I didn't even know there was a spoiler code.

ETA: And again I'm annoyed that you can't split up quotes from another poster until after you've posted.

Have you considered copying the part of the post you want into the reply box yourself and then just sticking the quote tags around it? If you want to show whom the quote is from, you just need to put "=username" (without the quotation marks) in the first tag after the word quote in order to get the name of whom you're quoting to appear...

Where's the controls for our time display? I didn't see it in the board settings. Unlike Rigil, since I've gotten out of the military, I prefer to use the same 12 hour AM/PM time as everyone else.

The time settings are under "board settings" under the "Preferences" link.

Unfortunately, it's either shown only as military or as civilian time for everyone, depending on what chris has the overall board set for. It doesn't appear to give an option for individuals to switch between one type or the other...

No I haven't tried that. It does seem to be a rather cumbersome way, but since that seems to be the only option I guess I'll have to use it.

(And for the record, I never liked the old way much either, where you had to preview a post before the quote showed up in your post window. Often I just put gibberish like "kjhgfajhf" and then previewed, and only then did I start making the real post.)

Hrrm... not everyone else, mostly just you Americans. We use the 24h system in Sweden and it has not got to do with any military style.

OK... i think after much trial and error I have fixed the spacing in the Sith theme. Member titles should be justified correctly. However somewhere along the way a "Hot pink" graphic bar has developed at the base of the posts in the sith theme... was THAT there before???

Most definitely not... though it does bring to mind some rather odd, disturbing images of what exactly the Sith might be doing with anything that was hot pink in color, :lol2:...
